Bannview was opened in 1977 by Gerald and Joan Black. The original building, built in 1896, was an old bicycle shed, owned by local shirt making business Spence Bryson, and its redevelopment into a squash club was testament to the imagination of Gerald, a man who was never afraid to attempt the seemingly improbable over the years.
We arrived late last night and the owner’s daughter met us with a smile, showed us our rooms, and this morning had a wonderful breakfast for us. I would love to stay here again. The beds were very comfortable and our room had plenty of space.
Really enjoyed my stay here. Arrived quite late and was welcomed with a smiling face and staff that could not have been more hospitable or accommodating. Breakfast was amazing and the I cannot praise the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff enough. Amazing value for money. I will be back!
A very warm welcome, large very comfortable double room, followed by a good breakfast the next day. We had a 5 night stay and were well looked after. The B & B was spotless, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It is a family owned and run establishment, and they all seem determined to make it a home from home and were all singing from the same hymn sheet. They offer early breakfast too, which is great if you are on business or have an early flight or ferry. Even though the B & B was full, it was very quiet and peaceful .We would certainly stay here again if we returned to the area.
I stayed here on Wednesday night. Check in was easy. My room was clean and breakfast was served by lovely Denise. Great value for money. Typical old bnb did the job for me. I would go back again.
